Perfect Harmony

Thump, thump, thump.

The sound of my shoes hitting the ground, as I run stronger and stronger, is my perfect harmony.
My heart pounds out of my chest; my breath comes out harsh and sharp. I lose myself in the rhythm.

Scratch, scratch, scratch.

The sound of my pen hitting the paper, as I write faster and faster, is my perfect harmony.
My hand cramps; my fingers work tirelessly. I lose myself in the story.

Ha, ha, ha.

The sound of my friends and family giggling, as I laugh harder and harder, is my perfect harmony.
My smile shines; my stomach aches from the laughter. I lose myself in them.

Thump, scratch, ha.

The sound of my shoes, pen, friends and family. I run and write and laugh. I lose myself.

This is my perfect harmony.

  1. And a beautiful harmony they create. Our family gives us love, running gives us strength and endurance and writing gives us peace and release. You are a talented young writer, and the world needs more like you. 🙂
