My gear shifts to

I stop driving,

stop soaring past the sights.

I stop parking,

missing all the views.

My mind goes numb,

I lean back into my seat,

slumping over

losing my thoughts.

All too quickly,

my break is over.

My hand moves back towards the gear,

ready to drive,

ready to fly.

I think

I might

Too much to say,

to do.

I’m building up,

bursting at the seams.

Fireworks burst,

sparks coat the floor.

The good,

the bad,

all forced out of me,

in one

P. S. This was inspired by how I often feel when I have a lot of schoolwork and things I have to do. When I am able to write during a busy time, it pushes these overwhelmed feelings out of me and into a new creative writing piece.

Hope you enjoyed!

You broke me,

snapped me in two.

You cracked me,

split me in half.

You left bits and pieces of my heart

lying on the ground.

You left chunks and slices of my brain

splayed across the floor.

You thought I was over,

far from it.

For maybe these pieces are better,

than the old me.

I can build myself back up,

piece by piece.

I can recreate myself,

bit by bit.

I will keep the good pieces,

and forget the bad ones.

I will construct a new me,

a better me,

without you.
