Self-Creation

You broke me,

snapped me in two.

You cracked me,

split me in half.

You left bits and pieces of my heart

lying on the ground.

You left chunks and slices of my brain

splayed across the floor.

You thought I was over,

far from it.

For maybe these pieces are better,

than the old me.

I can build myself back up,

piece by piece.

I can recreate myself,

bit by bit.

I will keep the good pieces,

and forget the bad ones.

I will construct a new me,

a better me,

without you.
